We offer steel garage doors. Steel doors are much stronger and more secure than wood, aluminum, or fiberglass models. Our steel doors come in many design options ranging from standard raised panels to unique carriage-style designs.
Insulation in garage doors is very important for many reasons. Insulation in a garage door is great to help regulate the temperature in a garage. It helps keep the heat in for winter and helps keep heat out of the garage over the summer. With the temperature being regulated, it can help cut energy costs and save you money! An insulated door can help regulate noise from the exterior as well.
In order to ensure properly working garage doors and openers, you should have your overhead garage door and operator serviced every six months to a year. According to Raynor, 55% of people use the garage door as their home’s main entrance. Make sure yours is working properly with regular service!
Torsion springs have an expected life of about 10,000 “cycles.” A cycle is one opening and one closing of the garage door. Springs will wear out, so call us for needed garage door repairs.
With the garage door fully closed, simply pull the red release cord down toward the floor. Having the door closed fully is also for safety, once the release is pulled, if the door is open, it could slam down. We would only suggest pulling the release cord from an open door in an emergency. Release cords are standard on all garage doors.
Selecting the right garage door openers comes down to several things. Most commonly the size and clearances above and on the sides of the door opening. We will help you with the decision to make sure you're getting the right opener and setup.
There are several safety features that are part of garage door openers. Rolling code technology allows and selects a new and non-repeating code every time the control is used. Also, a touchpad (keypad) on the outside of the garage allows for entry using a programmable code. Most openers include a light as well that stays on for a few minutes allowing you to get into your home.
In most cases, garage door openers reverse because there is something blocking or in front of the sensors. Please check that nothing is on the floor that could be blocking the sensors' path. If nothing is blocking your sensors, check to make sure the LED lights on the sensors are blinking. If they are, please refer to the troubleshooting sections of your openers owners manual.
The average life span of garage door openers can vary from 10 to 20 years depending on the model and usage. Things like proper inspections and regular maintenance can help your opener last longer as well.
The first thing to check if you're using an opener is to make sure the opener has power and that your batteries in the remote aren't dead. If both appear to have power, then pull the emergency release cable and try to manually lift the door. If the garage door does not lift, the door springs could be broken. Please also note repeated operation may have tripped the overload protector in the motor. Wait 15 minutes and try again. Call us regarding any questions you may have about garage door openers.
